Strength for the Journey

The Prayer of Jesus in John 17

Fall 2024 Sermon Series

In John 17, Jesus prays for his disciples, knowing the immense challenges they will face once he is no longer physically with them. This deeply personal prayer not only reflects his love and concern for their well-being, but also prepares them for the trials ahead: persecution, division, and the dangerous task of living and sharing the gospel in a hostile world.

As we reflect on this profound prayer in a new series, Strength for the Journey: The Prayer of Jesus in John 17, we will discover wisdom and encouragement for our own journeys as modern disciples. Just as the early followers faced hardship and uncertainty, the church today encounters similar struggles in a rapidly changing and often resistant world. Jesus also prayed for us in anticipation of our unique challenges and opportunities as his disciples.

Join us this fall as we explore how Jesus' prayer offers us strength, unity, and a renewed sense of mission, equipping us to stand firm amid adversity.
