Children’s Ministry
Each Sunday morning, we welcome about 75-100 children into our children's ministry rooms. In order to provide a space for them to belong, grow, and respond, we need a team of about 20 volunteers each week.
If you are interested in learning more about our children's ministry or are interested in joining our team, please click here to visit our website or email our director of children’s ministry, Lynne Smiley.
Youth Ministry
Our youth ministry is growing, and our students need you! If you are someone who still likes to have fun like a kid sometimes, but are also interested in creating a safe space to learn about God and live in Christian community, then we would love to talk with you!
Visit our website to learn more about our youth ministry or send us an email for more information.
Worship Ministry
Our worship ministry is seeking new members to join our worship team, including:
Tech Team Members - to assist with ProPresenter and lyrics during Sunday gatherings - middle school aged and up
Sound Engineers - Running/mixing sound for our Sunday gatherings - high school aged and up
Instrumentalists (Bass, Acoustic, Electric Guitar, Keys) - high school aged and up
Vocalists - high school aged and up
Visit our worship ministry page for more information about the worship team. Complete this short ministry team interest form to connect with our associate pastor of worship, Cidney Callahan. We may have additional needs that are not listed here, so if you have questions, please be sure to complete the interest form as well.
Hospitality Ministry
Welcoming longtime Midtowners and newcomers to our church is a very important role on Sunday mornings. Here are ways you can get involved:
Hospitality Team - “Welcome—we've been expecting you and we're glad you're here!" is the core message of the hospitality team. A warm smile and friendly greeting helps put our guests at ease, and conveys a feeling of hospitality and safety. Individuals, couples, or families with children are needed in this critical ministry area. Time commitment is about 20 minutes before service and ten minutes after one time per month. To learn more or sign up, email hospitality-midtown@cground.org
Coffee Team - Nothing brings a smile to people's faces quite like a warm cup of coffee or tea on a Sunday morning. The warmth also creates a space to linger and chat with one another. Come be a part of making the magic happen by joining the coffee team. There's opportunities for individuals or couples to serve around an hour and fifteen minutes once a month. To learn more or sign up to help fuel our congregants, email coffee@cground.org.
Snow Patrol
This seasonal ministry helps to make CG Midtown safer during the winter months by removing snow and ice from our walkways, steps, and parking lot. Depending on the weather, Snow Patrol volunteers may be called into action before and after Sunday worship gatherings and throughout the week for other church activities.
To volunteer or just to learn more, please contact our facility and grounds director, Brian Sevenbergen.
