Hazel Owens

Hazel first came to CG Midtown as a student intern from Christian Theological Seminary (CTS) in the fall of 2016, and accepted the staff pastoral intern role in April 2019. Following that, in May 2020, she accepted the role of associate pastor, becoming the first woman and person of color to serve as pastor at Common Ground Midtown.
Hazel has a Master’s Degree in human resource management from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a Master’s of Divinity and a Master’s in marriage & family therapy from CTS. She is a full-time licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT). Hazel currently sees clients and provides consulting services through her private practice Owens Counseling & Consulting Services, LLC.
Hazel comes with over a decade of experience in teaching God's word and leading women's ministries. She enjoys traveling, cooking, time with family and friends, movies, and music. Hazel is the people's cheerleader in wanting them to be the best versions of themselves!
